[Eclipse]¶
Orion Hegemony¶

The Hegemony's ships were airbrushed 72.155 Heavy Charcoal and then lightly sprayed from above (concentrating here and there) with 70.989 Sky Grey. This will be followed by a heavy lack wash, blackening the ships again.

[Eclipse]¶
Terran Federation¶

I airbrushed the ships red in three shades.

[Eclipse]¶
Terran Directorate¶

I airbrushed the ships red in three shades.

[Eclipse]¶
Terran Union¶

I cleaned the blue human player's ships of flash and basecoated them with 74.602 Black Surface Primer through my airbrush. The starbases are from Shapeways

The ships were then sprayed in 70.890 Reflective Green.

A final highlight of 70.857 Golden Olive was applied by airbrush.

The rest will be brushwork.

[Eclipse]¶
Orion Hegemony¶

I cleaned the black alien player's ships of flash and basecoated them with 73.601 Grey Primer through my airbrush. Now, it might seem strange to basecoat black ships that will end black in grey; but seeing where I applied black primer on black models is difficult, and really black ships would look dull, so they will end up a dark grey.

[Eclipse]¶

I cleaned the blue human player's ships of flash and basecoated them with 74.602 Black Surface Primer through my airbrush. The starbases are from Shapeways

[Eclipse]¶
Rho Indi Syndicate¶

I cleaned the grey human player's ships of flash and basecoated them with 74.602 Black Surface Primer through my airbrush.

[Eclipse]¶
Terran Directorate¶

I cleaned the red human player's ships of flash and basecoated them with 74.602 Black Surface Primer through my airbrush.

[Eclipse]¶
Descendants of Draco¶

I basecoated them in 73.601 Grey Primer applied through my airbrush, then applied preshading with 71.036 Mahagony.

To create some transition between the brown the yellow which was to follow, I applied 70.956 Light Orange.

The models were then sprayed white from above, to get a nice even white coat for all the yellow areas.

This was then followed with 71.002 Yellow sprayed in several light coats.

All areas that did not look bright enought were then resprayed white followed by yellow.

The rest was brush work:

  • Metal
    • 71.073 Black
  • Engines
    • 71.109 U.K. P.R.U. Blue
    • 70.961 Sky Blue
  • Windows
    • 72.028 Dark Green
    • 72.029 Sick Green
    • 72.032 Escorpena Green
    • 72.033 Livery Green
    • SWW002 Heavy Body Black dot on Dark Green
    • 71.001 White dot in black for reflection

After applying a coat of gloss varnish, I applied an Winsor and Newton oil wash (Raw Umber mixed with Sansodor), which was afterwards rubbed off the high areas with qtips and Sansodor.

Finally, the models were sealed with matt varnish.

[Eclipse]¶
Mechanema¶

We played Eclipse for the last couple of times with our boardgame group of people, so I thought it was about time to get the miniatures painted.

The Mechanema are the white player aliens. When looking at their portrait, I immediately thought turquoise tinted white. And that is how I painted them.

I basecoated them in 73.601 Grey Primer applied through my airbrush, then sprayed them in 1:10 71.001 White : 72.024 Falcon Turquoise.

They were then drybrushed white, and then got some white highlights painted on where the drybrush was not enouh.

Metal areas were painted 71.073 Black.

The windows I painted in

  • 72.015 - Hexed Lichen
  • 72.014 - Warlord Purple
  • 72.013 - Squid Pink

I then painted a dark spot with SWW002 Heavy Body Black over the Hexed Lichen, and added a white dot to represent light reflection.

The models were then sprayed with gloss varnish and had a Winsor and Newton Lamp Black oil wash (mixed with Sansodor) applied, which was afterwards rubbed off the high areas with qtips and Sansodor.

Finally, the models were sealed with matt varnish.
