[Nemesis]¶
Core Game¶

Oil washes applied and a final coat of matt varnish applied. Aliens done.

The card holders were airbrushed similar to the aliens, gloss varnished, then the recessed letters white washed. The player number was printed on the grey plastic originally, and therefore got lost during painting. So I applied white decal numbers, and then blended them in with more Scurvy Green airbrushed over them.

The only brushwork on the aliens were the claws/teeth and the violet fleshy/membrane parts. The violet was highlighted with the same flesh tone as the green carapace.

The goo on the queen's base was painted in:

  • 70.856 Ochre Brown
  • 70.877 Gold Brown
  • 70.951 Yellow

Everything was then sprayed in gloss varnish.

Here are the card holders before all the script on it was washed with white over the gloss varnish that helped the wash to flow.

Finally, the Scientist and the Captain join the Crew, again following the armour color as explained with the Mechanic.

Then I turned my attention to the aliens. They were zenitally airbrushed, where I tried to create a gradient from black to green by mixing in first green to black, then adding flesh for the lightest parts:

  • 71.057 Black
  • 72.027 Scurfy Green
  • 72.769 Flesh

Next, the Soldier was painted, again following the armour color as explained with the Mechanic.

Next, the Scout and Pilot were done. Each in their own colors, but following the armour color as explained with the Mechanic.

The first player model is done, the Mechanic. Each of the characters will be painted in different colors, but one part of their equipment will have the same color: the armour. It was painted in

  • Vallejo 70.986 Deck Tan base coat
  • Secret Weapon Washes W012 Storm Cloud wash
  • Vallejo 70.986 Deck Tan highlight

After removing the flash from the miniatures (which was a bit tedious with some of the very well sculpted alien tails), I primed all the miniatures today in black Vallejo primer through my airbrush.

[Kickstarter]¶
Nemesis¶

I backed another Kickstarter - Nemesis, by Awaken Realms. I saw a demo video back in Novembre if I remember correctly and was instantly hooked. When the Kickstarter went live I immediately backed it - well, I thought that I was quite early.

I read the message of the opening of the Kickstarter after work. Then the project was already funded - 50,000 GBP within 4 minutes. My backer number was already in the 8,000. There was obviously some more nerds beside me interested in the game :-)

Yesterday, the campaign ended with 30,553 backers that spent a total of 3,080,833 of the initially requested 50,000! Awesome.

Now I can't wait to get the game...
