I highlighted the bandags with

  • 70.976 Buff
  • 70.820 Offwhite

The miniatures where then gloss varnished.

Finally, an oil wash was applied:

  • 1/3 Winsow & Newton Lamp Black
  • 2/3 Winsow & Newton Burnt Umber

Mythical Agyptian Priests¶

The good thing is, the doctor sent me on sick leave for the whole weak.

The bad thing is, all the sleeping and "suffering" (my wife's words) take away so much time and leave not that much for painting. But giving the models a quick spray with black was doable.

I started painting the skin but did not get that far...

Mythical Agyptian Mummies¶

The good thing is, the doctor sent me on sick leave for the whole weak.

The bad thing is, all the sleeping and "suffering" (my wife's words) take away so much time and leave not that much for painting. But giving the models a quick spray with black was doable.

With the mummies I managed to base coat

  • the exposed skin with
    • 1/3 70.950 Black

      2/3 70.981 Orange Brown
  • the bandages with
    • 70.847 Dark Sand

I then slathered on a different wash on every miniature

  • SWW004 Concrete
  • SWW007 Stone
  • SWW008 Baby Poop
  • SWW010 Dark Sepia

[Eclipse]¶
Planta¶

I did not use any metallic colours and tried to give them a more organic feel. The drives of all the other races were done in blue, for the Planta I used

  • 70.957 Flat Red
  • 70.911 Light Orange

something which in my mind looks more like natural fire than artificial drives.

Everthing I would have painted as glass on other ships I painted as an eye. In hindsight, the pupil should have been much brighter...

To add further to the organic look, I painted some of the potrusions like horn:

  • 70.941 Burnt Umber
  • 70.977 Desert Yellow
  • 70.847 Iraqi Sand

Paint Station¶

After the first few days, I heard an ominous creaking sometimes when I moved the fully loaded station - which made me doubt the power of the glue...

So I decided to add some nails to strenghten the integrity of the station. To prevent the MDF from splintering when hammering in the nails, I first drilled holes with a slighlty smaller diameter than the nail.

Now there are no more ominous sounds no more :-)

Mythical Agyptian Priests¶

Some more mystical elements - well, these are historical figures basically, but to my best knowledge the historical priests were not able to summon demons and awake mummies.

It is one priest and one acolythe, the acolythe will get a pole with the symbol of Nekhebet. The pole supplied had a nice symbol, but not very nekhebetic.

As usual, they are mounted on bases from Products for Wargamers.
