[1941]¶
Wehrmacht, motorisierter Aufklärungszug¶

I started to work on a new project during my lunch breaks. Well, actually it is a quite old poject dating back to 2006... but I got ... let's say... sidetracked... several times... but good things come to those who wait.

This is a motorized reconnaissance platoon, mounted on motorbikes and motorbikes with side cars. The Leutnant is riding in a Kübelwagen.

The first smaller batch of models wears the M36 field blouse (greener tone than the later field grey and dark green collars) and a mix of M36 (stone grey) and M40 Trousers (field grey).

The rest will wear the M40 field blouse and M40 trousers, all totally in field grey.

[2003]¶
Insurgents - Army Renegades¶

I painted the last group of renegades:

Here is the complete bunch of renegades. They are organized into two squads of 10, each with 2 RPGs and one LMG. They are lead by an officer, accompagnied by an RTO. Additionally, a sniper is suporting them.

[2003]¶
Insurgents¶

I started to de-flash insurgents from Rebel Miniatures.

[2003]¶
Insurgents¶

I cleaned all miniatures of flash and glued them to their bases.

Next step is to make the bases nice by hiding the integral bases of the minis. Then they are ready to be painted,

[2003]¶
Insurgents¶

Ready based and primed - awaiting some colour.

As a last thought before priming, I removed the cargo pockets of about 1/4 - 1/3 of the model's pants, these will be painted as 'civilian' clothing.

Example:

[Deathball]¶
Gaming Board¶

I own the wood playing board for Dreadball, which still awaits painting. I want to do a run down arena, with a lot of rust. Here is my first test piece, where I gave the salt method my first try.

I sprayed the piece Vallejo Air Model Rust. Then I applied water in selected spots and sprinkled salt over it. This was left to dry.

I sprayed two coats of silver, Vallejo Air Gun Grey and then a lighter code of Vallejo Steel.

The last step was to rubb off the salt.

I am quite please with the result, the final piece needs to be more detailed, with field markings etc. painted on, but the rust effect is very good I think.

[1941]¶
Wehrmacht, motorisierter Aufklärungszug¶

The first group of models is done. Eventually I will add markings for rank (Gefreiter, Obergefreiter, etc.) but first need to do more research concerning a historical correct composition of ranks.

[2003]¶
Insurgents¶

First group is done.

They all have blue trousers, but even they received different washes/decorations, all other clothing is different. I aim to get no duplicates with these to emphasize the irregular aspect of them.

[2003]¶
Insurgents¶

I finished two more batches of insurgets.

The first group is, at leat partially, wearing camouflage uniforms.

The second batch was painted mostly with washes.

Wehrmacht, motorisierter Aufklärungszug¶

The second group, in M40 field blouse and M40 trousers, with some camouflage helmet covers, is done.
