I started to work on Ash.

Ash The trouser was painted in 70.826 SS Camo Medium, the shirt in 70.844 Deep Sky Blue.

Ash The trouser was washed in 72.090 Black Green Ink, the shirt in SWW015 Blue.

Ash The trouser and the shirt were washed in SWW002 Heavy Body Black thinned slightly with water.

Ash The trouser was highlighted in 70.826 SS Camo Medium, the shirt in 70.844 Deep Sky Blue.

Ash The shotgun wood was painted 70.984 Flat Brown, all the belts in 70.950 Black.

Ash The metal on the chainsaw was rusted. For this I stippled 70.302 Dark Rust on the tool, in these ares a lighter stippling in 70.301 Light Rust, and over this some 70.303 Yellowish Rust.

Ash After painting the chainsaw in 76.550 Chipping Medium, I stippled 70.908 Carmine Red on top. This is my first try with the medium, in theory I will be able to scrub of the red paint with a wet brush, revealing the rust below - thus representing chipped paint.

Ash I painted wood grain lines on the shotgun with 72.037 Filthy Brown.

Ash The skin was painted in 70.927 Dark Flesh.

Ash After washing the skin with 72.093 Skin Wash, I highlighted it with 70.927 Dark Flesh, in which I mixed more and more 70.951 White.

[15mm IABSM]¶
North of Caen¶

Some progress on the Brits. I painted all helmets in 70.924 Russian Uniform, the field flasks in 70.846 Mahagony Sand and am now in the process of painting 70.988 Khaki on the anklets, all the webbing, the backpacks, the camouflage strips on the helmets... this takes forever, but after this step the most difficult and time consuming parts will be done.

In the picture below, the models in the right lower corner are still to be done in Khaki.

My new blogging system¶

Welcome to my new Blog!

I now moved from Blogger to my own server, blogging by writing locally in Common Mark and publishing with a mix of php, python and bash scripts.

Now I have total control over my blogging activity :-)

[Weird War II]¶
German Mad Doctor and his Zombie creations¶

The rest of the models is done except the Dr. and the grass on the bases:

The green hoses didn't look so good after all, so I repainted them in grey.

[Warfork 40.000 - Rogue Rules]¶
Squat Stunty Scout¶

A chance find recently on ebay, this lovely little one just had to be bought :-) A blast from the past.

He will support my Brotherhood sappers I finished recently.

[Modern]¶
Shotgun Joe¶

While looking for miniatures I could use to convert to 40,000 militia/gangers, I thought I could give the WWII american infantry from Warlord Games a try, as they could be easily converted. I ordered one model through Mega Bitzshop to check on its size. Luckily I did so, because the model is way too small compared to GW, probably 25mm vs 32mm scale.

So I decided to use the model as an addition to my modern characters. I cut away all the webbing and the obviously WWII style boots.

I then used putty to resculpt the areas into plain cloth.

The shotgun arm I left off for ease of painting.

Characters¶

The first three characters are done, Harby and the twins. I am especially proud of the SWAT twin, as I did not think I could paint a black model in so many different shades.

[Weird War II]¶
German Mad Doctor and his Zombie creations¶

I highlighted the skin with dead flesh and the bandages with white. The eyes and teeth were painted white, as were the skulls on some of the models where the skin already rottet away.

The bone and teeth will get a brownish wash. I am unsure if I will leave the eyes as is or add a wash to give them a more defined outline.
