I backed yet another Kickstarter - ARMIES & LEGIONS & HORDES by Dave Taylor.

I first saw this and thought ... mmhhh ... do I really need that (like in the sense my wife always asks me on anew purchase)? And I thought, probably not.

Then I saw a video from the Terrain Tutor on the topic and that was that.

Nemesis¶

I backed another Kickstarter - Nemesis, by Awaken Realms. I saw a demo video back in Novembre if I remember correctly and was instantly hooked. When the Kickstarter went live I immediately backed it - well, I thought that I was quite early.

I read the message of the opening of the Kickstarter after work. Then the project was already funded - 50,000 GBP within 4 minutes. My backer number was already in the 8,000. There was obviously some more nerds beside me interested in the game :-)

Yesterday, the campaign ended with 30,553 backers that spent a total of 3,080,833 of the initially requested 50,000! Awesome.

Now I can't wait to get the game...

I joined this Kickstarter on 6th May, choosing the True Believer pledge for £215.00 - which is quite a lot. It gives you access though to:

Two complete Gang Starter Sets of your choice
the Printed version of the Rulebook
the PDF version of the Rulebook
the FREE Kickstarter miniature
Twenty plastic multi-part zombies
you will receive ONE copy of EVERY item unlocked during the campaign (this includes all miniatures, buildings and terrain items)!

The last point was very tempting, especially as some of the higher stretch goals really caught my interest - but I watched it very closely, if it would not have taken off as it did, I would have withdrawn my pledge - but as things are - this will be money well spent :-)

US Army Squad and Flatbed¶

The minis are done. The oil wash did not create the effect I was looking for in creating the distinction between different areas, if I am to paint ACU clad army soldiers again, I need to try something different.

US Army Squad and Flatbed¶

The models are done painting. I used this guide for colour choice.

The uniforms are not highlighted yet, and the different (uniform and tactical vest, tactical vest and pouches, etc.) areas are not distinct yet. This will be adressed after a gloss coat of varnish with a black oil wash.
