[Warfork Fantasy Battles]¶
Nordman Mercenary Journeymen¶

Today I painted the armour and weapons. The skin is basecoated.

I started on the last 10 models. The bases, trousers and shirts are done.

The Army force is done. I now have an infantry company of 3 platoons each of 3 rifle squats (1 SMG NCO, 1 BAR, 8 rifles), 1 platoon of 3 60mm mortars, various big men and of course the company command with 5 bazooka teams.

The company is supported by a battallion level machine gun platoon of 4 MMGs; and is accompanied by a Forward Observer Team.

  • Rifle Company Headquarters

  • Rifle Company Rifle Squad I

  • Rifle Company Rifle Squad II

  • Rifle Company Rifle Squad III

  • Rifle Company Weapons Platoon

  • Battallion Machine Gun Platoon

  • Forward Observer Team

Some spare models that do not fit into the rifle company organization, but will certainly be of use at one point in time.

The Dwarven reinforcements finally arrived:

  • Dwarv Wizard

  • Hammerer Company

  • Spear Company

  • Orange Crossbow Company

  • Blue Crossbow Company

Greenery is applied, only the varnish is missing now.

I washed the models in Army Painter Dark Shade. Here are two comparison models before and after the goo applied.

And the whole lot, drying.

The bases are ready painted, the brown highlighted with a lighter brown and an ochre drybrush in my usual style, then individual stones and pebbles picked out in a medium grey or grey blue and drybrushed stone grey.

All that needs to be done now is adding some static grass and then the final varnish.

[Tools]¶
Plaster Vibrator¶

I ordered some new molds from Hirst Arts. As the castings for my Frag board surly, albeit unfortunately very slowly, are depleting my plaster supply, I ordered a new bag of plaster. The current 25kg bag lasted for about 4 years, the new one hopefully will last as long.

While shopping for the plaster, my eyes were again catched by a vibrating casting machine, that helps removing and/or preventing air bubbles in the casts. I wanted to have such a machine for quite some time, using a pounding board so far.

As I plan to do quite some castings in the near future, I finally invested in the SILFRADENT VIB15.

I painted the shields in unit colours, leaving the bare plaster for the white parts. Both sides of the shields where then covered in PVA glue, as I am not sure how the wash will react with the bare material.

All the bases are basecoated. I hate painting sand... so many undercuts...
